Went on City of Redondo PM 1/2 day. DFG was on the boat with me. 25 anglers. Fished 200 feet throughout the day. Handful of Sand bass. 4 Thresher Sharks were caught in the 40-60 pound range not even a mile from the pier. Best bet for landing a thresher was to flyline a slab of mackeral w/tail still on OR flylined sardine. I did not end up with one. Peace.

Sux for getting a skunk. :(

I'd like to say the "at least you got out there" line, but honestly, if I knew ahead of time I was going to skunk on any given fishing only trip, I would not go. I'd rather be doing something else. I despise skunking!

Better luck next time bro.

But hey, at least you got out there!

Sup wit chu? I like the round stern of the "City". I've always wondered, just where exactly on that boat are the "corner" stern spots???

Thresher shark fishing? Was tha captain intentionally fishing for them? Or did you guys just tired of bottom fishing and decided to look around?

yeah, they are literally a mile straight out from the deep end of redondo pier. And YES 8 thresher sharks on the AM and PM half day would be considered an anomoly. Go kill em' Chris.
