Best bait for surf fishing now?

What is the best bait for perch and corbina now? Does the corbina even bite now?
I tried to dig for some sand crabs a week ago, but couldn't find any. Are there any
in fall/winter?

In my experience, nothing changes (bait wise). GCSW, MORFS, itty bitty squid strips, etc... The corbs are just deeper in this time of the year, but you can still catch them from time to time.

The sandcrabs go away in the winter/fall. Now is the time of year when you break out the 9-10ft light action surf rods and 1oz weights, so you can cast over the breakers to hit the deep holes.
