Fished Ventura, north of Seaward, this weekend, on a narrow stretch of beach near PCH. Saturday was the better day with a bit more tide and current. Caught BSPs for about 5 hrs. from 7:00am to noon. Average size about 1.2 lbs. Used 8lb P-line CX flouro with a sliding sinker set-up. Bait was gulp sand worms, grubs & fresh cut sardines. All were working equally well. Sunday, the weather was nicer and the current calmer, however, the bite was slower. Only managed a few perch over 2 hrs. of fishing. All were released except two. Nonetheless, a beautiful weekend with the kids.

Victor 101 - No, this is not a private beach. However, there is limited access because of the parking. Worth getting out early I guess.

Ghetto Dad - Well, we only kept a few and released many others. Generally, when we fish it's always C&R. Not too keen on eating fish from the surf or piers anyway. But, thanks for the warning.
