Another day.. another almost boat almost lost to Skinner

Too cold for me to go early... so got on the water around 930/10am.. was offloading the boat and noticed ranger towing in a boat and....

um it's upside down. Yes.. UPSIDE DOWN. Didnt get a chance to video/photo of it, but from what I was told.. somehow it clipped an anchor tie somewhere and flipped the boat... they were able to right size it and get the water out. Docked, trailered.. and off to get checked out for electronics checks.

Ok.. on to the report.. nice day.. light winds. Headed to the usual spots... water was flowing at the inlet nicely... water def still down, but appears not as low as previously reported as I didnt see any fence tops.
Was on and off cold througout the day... but otherwise.. beautiful weather.

Ended up with two nice size models that really put the test to my UL gear, really fun to test your skills.. and lucky to land both. Couple short bites for the others on the boat.

Thanks for the update on the conditions. So sad to read about the boat mishap. Hopefully, the owner/occupants were unhurt.

Lake was pretty quiet.. seemed to be mostly bass guys looking for the pre-spawn. Handful of people camping got on some of the rentals, but otherwise quiet day on the lake.

I heard from park employees that because of all the complaints, along with photos and descriptions of some poachers, that they actually caught a couple in the act. No poaching since then. The news must have gotten around the network that Skinner was not open game anymore.
