Went to Santee on Saturday for their second grand opening of season. They planted a few lightning trout but I only saw one caught. Did see plenty of birds chasing them. As for the regular trout a lot of people got skunked or they caught one or two.
I was lucky an ended up with 4 trout. The biggest one was 8 pounds and the smallest was 5 pounds. The 4 fish total was 25 pounds. I saw about 50 fish caught and about 47 of them were about 4 pounds or over. I think they just got lucky and got all monster trout for their opening.
