My secret to fishing hesperia lakes,
Green or chartreuse pb, cast out 2-5 ft from shore ,that’s it.
If you sit and watch other anglers you can almost tell where the trout are at .
Like doing the wave at a ball game.
Limited out within an hour.
Pissed off the pros.
I don’t fish the lake often but this need to launch a punker or super spook across it going to get me in trouble.
I had to force myself to put the rod in a holder and..........WAIT.....
This technique was given to me by another old timer in the area,it hasn’t failed me yet.

I assume you need a shorter leader or no?

Trout guts work good for hold over cats at Hesperia. There is a trench off the finger point near the island where they hang out. Break out your long rods and cast as close as you can to the island and hang on. I have caught them there with ice on the water, sometimes it would be so cold I would sit in the car and watch my rods with binoculars.

Hesperia water quality is very cloudy, longer leaders with a scent work best, and silver or gold color lures.

Drove by there today on the way home from Silverwood looks like they are closed to camping and fishing.
