New to fishing

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone know what type of fish this is? 52816 This is my first fish I caught recently during low tide in a small tide pool. It put up a great fight, felt like i was snagged then took drag like crazy. Thanks!

It is some type of pelagic rockfish. Not positive which type. Looks similar to a silvergray but I do not think that is it. There are over 125 types of rockfish. It is not one of the common ones I catch.

Thanks y'all, I honestly thought it was a silvergray rockfish as well when I was looking at pictures online. It does look like a dark barred sand bass now that you mention it.
