Was 30 miles deep, horsing around at Barney the other day. lookong for another secret lake I found that turned out to be on private land and you’re only allowed to walk. Ended up skipping it and heading back down to Trask. Missing two giant steelhead. Then stopped at Dam Hole on Trask and found about 1000 trout biting in Dam Hole using my Polarized Oakley Straight Jackets.

whiped put the fly rod with a bead head and knocked back about ten Cutthroat trout. Right before the buzzer at sundown. Epic.
most of them not much bigger than my hand. Kept the two largest ones.

I hardly ever keep a fish. This time I was searching for one for a few days and finally got these two. I had broiled and seasoned trout crackers with hot sauce over a bonfire of somebody’s trash pile they left at my secret campsite.

next day went and met the homies at Hagg.
only managed one dinkmouth bass. Smallest one in the lake.

good times. It was like a post apocalyptic trout ho-down.
plus I got the truck all Kiln Fired, now.

gonna miss it here. Might be changing location again rather soon. Like.. tomorrow!
where will TJ be next? Might there be an RV for the kayak and the drones in the near future???
the world may never know!

I wonder if it was easier to manage all that stuff in Oregon.

In California, it's quite a cluster*uck. I've understood from DFW to treat this as if we were in January. i.e, all Sierra waters are closed, except for the usual Hot Creeks, EWalkers, the Owens, PVR.

That I understand. That's the DFW jurisdiction.

But now, we have local, city, county jurisdictions to worry about. For example, 2 weeks ago, I go to my local cement pond, and there are "NO FISHING" signs all over the lake, but the park that the lake is in is open.

WTF?

Then, you have campgrounds that are closed, but dispersed camping is allowed?

You have some trail heads that are open, some that are closed, some parking areas that are open, some that are closed.

Very frustrating.

Glad you're getting out there and putting a hammering on those Oregon fish. Can't wait to see those big steelheads. I don't even know what seasons they run in, considering we don't have too many down here in SoCal.

hold on to your horsies gentleman.
I just rigged the yak and stirred up the bug spray potion. It’s time to get towed by some donkies around the gulph

I just traveled through like half the states in this getup.
each stated had a different message on the amber alert boards.
I haven’t seen an amber alert in months. I guess nobody cares about amber anymore...

it’s good to be back to Florida.
since we are having like apocalyptic meat shortages..
I think I might go catch some dinner. They tell my the “lean protien” of fish is better for my jacked up kidneys as well. Lord forgive me but I’m gonna go kills some animals. Shut up skylark. I can hear you laughing from 3000 miles away

Ps.. DS,
if you missed the steelhead video.. you gotta find it. TJ TV Episode 5.
mad usual I messed up the handling of the donkey fish, but I did manage to rope three Steelies before that fork of that river closed for the season. One of them fought me for an unbelievable 9 minutes and took me way way way down stream, under branches over the river and through the woods to grandmas house.

id highly suggest you find one of those fishes, at some point! Unfreaking believable lol.
