I will be heading up to the Sierras for one last trip of the year. Leaving Friday am, I will be fishing in Bishop and Mammoth on Friday. Saturday I will be making my first trip up to Bridgeport, and I plan to fish the East Walker River. Having never fished there before I was looking for some advice. I believe this area is barbless, catch and release. I will be flyfishing, so this wont be a problem for me, however my wife will be using mini jigs. Does this sound like a good idea or should she try something different. Any advice on the EWR would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for all the great info on this board. I will be sure to give a full report when I get back.
Thanks again
Russ

with spinninng gear use bass lures like plastic worms, plastic crawfish, swimbaits 4" to 6" with 8 pound flouro line and hold on. of course mini jigs will catch mini fish if thats what you want......... but Ive caught browns on just about everything in my bass box!

with fly gear use streamers and WD-40s

thanks guys but the fish was a native and very old. he had rows of large teeth and the game warden said he was at least 6 pounds. I also released him and I hooked a bigger fish that broke off 8 pound test. Tim Alpers would dream of a fish like these... sooo much stronger than fat planters

I drove by today on my way down from Reno and it looked amazing! I wish I had gear, but sadly I did not.
