My family (my wife, 2 kids and my father) made our annual trip to the Eastern Sierras on 10-12. My dad and I used to camp but with my two litte ones (1 1/2 and 4 months) we rented a condo in Mammoth. It is just too cold for the little guys. Quick summary of our trip-Arrived on 10-12 at 1600 hours. Fished Lake George for 1.5 hours. Between my dad and I we caught 4 stockers on inflated n/c. 10-13-Fished Convict Lake in the AM for nothing. Moved over to Lake George where we limited out in 2 hours. The below pic is my father with my 1 1/2 year old son Daniel. Daniel had a great time throwing rocks and fishing with his SuperMan pole.

10-14- Fished June Lake by the beach area. Absoluted WFO on n/c as my dad and I each limited out in just under an hour. Thank god because it was about 20 degrees.

My dad with our limit.

Just to finish up the rest of the trip. We ended up limiting out each morning at either Lake George, Convict, June or Lake Mary. Inflated n/c with an 18" leader or the new Gulp Chunky Cheese absoutely killed them. I caught 3 nice stockers out of Lake Mary on orange power worms. Great fishing, great scenery and a great time.

PS- this was my first time posting photos and I think I screwed it up. Can someone let me know how to do it correctly. Thanks again

Nice report Chappy! Congrats on your trout. I have never fished in weather that cold before. I'm just wondering.............does the line on the reel get iced to the point that casting becomes difficult?
