After the previous wet weather passed through I went to DVL to hopefully catch my first bass of the year. We got there a little later than normal, but we were launched and fishing around 11:45 am. We stopped first at the island near restroom cove to the right of the ramp. We had a bite there but did not get the fish. Then we moved deeper into the cove and I soon thereafter caught a bass about two pounds on a mm colored bait. And that was it for the rest of the day. We did see some fish working the mouth of that same cove later in the day. Presumably, these fish were stripers and we tried for about forty five minutes to catch a active school to throw into with no luck. It got to about 3:45pm. and we called it a day.
