Date: 2/23/18
Park hours: 6:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M. (Open seven days a week)Dock closes: 5:30 P.M.Last Plant: 1,500 lbs. of Rainbow Trout Wednesday Feb. 21st.
Next Plant: 1,500 lbs. of Rainbow Trout Wednesday Mar. 7th.
Water temperature: At surface 54.68 f., 8.65 D.O. @ 10’ 54.68 f., 8.34 D.O.
Water level: Low level, private water craft are currently banned.

Due to the threat of Quagga mussels, there remains a ban on private water craft and equipment. Restricted equipment includes; private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that contacts the water.
Permits and Boat Rentals are now issued by a machine located at the Ranger Station. The machine can take cash (no $50 or $100 bills), debit, or credit. Please take note; we do not sell fishing licenses, bait, or tackle, so anglers must acquire these essentials elsewhere prior to their visit. The lake is offering $20 all day motor boats to seniors on Tuesday and Thursdays and to active military every Saturday.
The third consecutive trout plants went in Wednesday but we are still waiting for the bite to really turn on. The trout have been responsive to top water lures, and fly fishing, as well as the usual floating baits.
The return of winter like conditions has stymied the emerging bass bite. Largemouth bass can be found lurking around structure. The bass are hitting on crawdads, and dark colored plastics.
The crappie have been put on hold as water temperatures are once again falling. Crappie are most often caught using finger jigs or live golden shiners. They bite best in the early morning before the sun rises and prefer the cover of shade.
Each month Whopper Contest winners in four categories are awarded a free fishing and boating permit. For information on the contest or fishing conditions, please contact the Ranger Station at (760) 839-4346.
