I recently took a trip to Convict Lake for a week. Did well the first day with this one, but the rest of the week were stockers.

A stocker has a rounded tail fin from rubbing the cement in the hatchery. I'm guessing this beautiful fish has been in the lake long enough to allow the tail to grow to its original shape.

Normally fish that have been in the lake for awhile have pink meat. It's because they're eating what trout in nature eat and not the pellets the hatchery feeds them.

I hope that helps and someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Wondering if they are eating Scuds like they do in Kerman?

That is a beautiful fish. Congratulations! It's hatchery fat, though, and not a holdover from previous years. But a catch to be very pleased with, for sure. Props!
