We got lucky. The frog was able to shake the hook after a few hops on dry land and slack line. I never really set the hook on it. He jumped back into the water and appeared to swim away just fine. 8)

You got to try it once. Not to bad. If someone told you that it was chicken legs you might not notice the differance in taste. Did that to a few buddys of mine. They did not know the differance. Also gave them alligator tail and they did not what it was and they liked it. I still laugh about that to this day.

If im not mistaken that looks like a Yellow legged frog! Its presence there is most alarming! You should tell the DFG about this!! This is an endangered species in california! You made a VERY nice discovery!

I wouldn't tell the DFG. Then they'll close down the lagoon to protect an endangered species. :D

Doubt it.

From what I understand, Yellow Legged Frogs max out at 3 inches. This was A LOT bigger. The bait is 4 inches alone...

Maybe I caught a world record yellow legged frog...
