Dang, I wish I had a son like you!!! You'll be able to put any of those in the bays as well as in freshwater. If you had a motor, close offshore in good weather is also a possibility but be very careful out there! You gotta be able to get back into the bay quickly in case of problems. Have fun!

If something bad does happen ill swim my @$$ off since i was in swimming though i will probably not go out of the bay

Get a yak, they have a tankwell for when your diving, you can troll, there faster to get from point A to B, if your batteries die you don't have to kick for your life to get back, and you can rig the heck out of em', I have a caddis and since iv'e had "two kayaks now" i havn't used my tube in about 4 years.
you can get some really awsome deals on http://www.kayak4fish.com heres a sample of mine wich is kind of basic but its good for me,just to give an idea if you havn't seen what they do to them these days.
"sorry no pics"all my pics are to big to post, i still have to figure out the whole pics on the post thing i guess, but anyway check out that site theres some good pics of rigged yaks.

I agree with martuka,
I have a kayak, and a pontoon.
I gotta say since I brought the kayak, I have not use my pontoon. and sure they I'm not gonna use
the pontoon again. I don't know what your situation is with transportation, my kayak takes up alot a room in
the garage and transportation to the lake (I transport my on top of my SUV). What I didn't like about the
pontoon is the set up it take once you get to the lake. it will take 30-40 min setup. I'm sure people are faster,
just takes practices. With the kayak I can paddle my way around the lake, I like the freedom of traveling
where I want.

I think the best thing to do is try all it out. People have different preference.

pontoon, its cool

my :2cents: I like the stablility of the toon.

true, I never felt that I can flip the toon,
My kayak yes.
I have a cobra tourer, 15 feet long 28 inches wide
very likely to flip, I haven't flip yet

majority of other kayak are more stable
Mine isn't because the the width is small
I have another kayak with a width of 36 inches
very stable

I fish a toon and the stability is outstanding even when I fish standing up and running the trolling motor. Setup is not that bad once you have a routine. And you can haul a ton of stuff with you. I love my toon.

ditto ron! the stability is awesome! when standing i can jump up and down wiht no problems moving around fast on the boat itsnt a problem either.. although i have almost went in for a dip when standing trying to happy gilmore the cast as far as i could get and and i leaned a little to far forward...got a little top heav but i pulled it off and didnt go it

go for a toon!!!!!! a lot more comfey then a yack more room to strech out

Only thing I don't like about my toon is it's so freakin heavy! It's all in the aircells.. the frame is light!
Just need one of these..
http://www.tackletour.com/reviewlaunchinggear.html
Without a wheel, I'm forced to wait for others to help me launch to use the pontoon.
I WILL be buying a wheel for it soon! That's my only restriction with the pontoon.
That wheel should roll right over weeds, and also act as a rudder to keep me on track better.

I don't know anything about kayaks, so cannot give my opinion in that area.

My trouble was also storage, but the pontoon breaks down to fit in the car and inside my house in the fishing room.

Check out Outcast PAC 900 I have for sale in this forum. It is the same company that makes the one you are looking at the Bass Pro Shops. It also has the launching gear for easy transport by yourself.

Check the one I have for Sale here on FNN. It has the lauching gear as well and is made by the same company as the one at Bass Pro Shops, just a much higher end pontoon.
