Brite Lake Derby 2017 is scheduled for April 1st 2017.Fishing start time is 6:00AM.I do not know how it will turn out due to changes in types of fish being stocked but it should be good fishing for the kids and fun for all. Details here

UPDATE:Wednesday (3-29-17) afternoon 1500+ pounds of VERY nice Rainbow trout were planted PLUS 100+ pounds of Trophy sized fish (4+ pounds).The lake is closed to fishing until Saturday (4-1-17) @ 6:00 AM for the derby.

I've never seen LMB stocked for a fishing derby. It's implied in a family derby, what you catch, you should take it home. (which we all know is sacroiliac)

You are correct etucker1959,The explaination is long and convoluted but that initial stocking was the best TVRPD could do at that time.There was also the lakes overall productivity that was a factor.The fish derby fish stocking issue has been rectified with Wednesdays planting and i am looking forward to seeing you there (i DO believe the fishing will be pretty darned good i suspect).
