So, I thought it would be fun to put together a short video showing the biggest smallmouth bass I filmed underwater in 2016. All these fish were filmed in lakes in northern Wisconsin.
I hope you enjoy this sixty second video.

That was awesome! Thanks for sharing! What else have you filmed underwater?

I live in Wisconsin, so I film mainly in this state but also in Michigan and Minnesota, and occasionally in Arkansas and Missouri when I travel there.

Awesome footage! What kind of equipment are you using to do the filming?

Thanks. I'm scuba diving and using a GoPro Hero 4 with dual strobes.

Did you use any filters? If so which ones?

I have filters to overcome the effects of water that's too blue or too green, but I don't use them. I think they too severely correct for a loss in the light spectrum. I've found that if I stay shallow, use strobe lighting, and work in clear water on a sunny day, I don't get the weird colors that are common in some underwater video.

What strobes did you use?

I don't have them handy, but they're very small and look like little flashlights, or mag-lites. They're very powerful however.
