Never fished this pond before so if anyone can share a little info that'd be cool. Im going to head up on Saturday. Was planning to stroll the shore, but if there are rentals available then I may do that, just to explore. Anybody have any 411 on the rental situation? Also, what time do they open/close? Ill be chasing bass of the striped and green variety. Looks like it'll be a bit chilly, with wind too. Can't complain about that. Thanks for any advice.

Rentals go by the hour
Aluminum 14' 85.00 per day
Pontoons 280.00 per day
Bait shop, microwave food, restrooms ice etc.
2 entrances; vacarro beach and immigrant landing/marina area.
The beach is closed during the week but the landing is open all days
Right now its cold, a trout plant is due sometime this week, probably friday.
Fishing has been on and off, bait and wait with worms/chovies/sardines etc. always works as does throwing trout or shad imitations.
I would try roostertails in trout, firetiger or white for bass, striper and trout, and worms/cut bait for cats.
Shore fishing is good at times, start in the inlet and work your way down to the marina, cast a long rod and one in close. Wear good shades because the water is clear and you can see the fish following your bait on the retrieve.
Please wear a flotation device if you rent a boat, many have drowned at this lake, so keep it safe. Also don't drink and boat they will board your boat and ticket you.
Enjoy your trip.

another option is to hire Bob as your guide. Catch a bunch of fish and learn a ton! Follow the trout only guide service link at the top of the page.
