Park hours: 6:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. (Closed weekdays open Weekends only)Dock closes: 4:30 P.M.Last Plant: small (undisclosed amount) DFW trout plant in early Nov.
Next Plant: 6,000 lbs of Rainbow Trout Saturday December 10th.
Water temperature: At surface 65.12 f., 5.75 D.O. @ 10’ 65.84 f., 5.55 D.O.
Water level: Low level, private water craft are currently banned.

To protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels, there is a ban on private water craft and equipment that could have been exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment includes private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that contacts the water.
Lake Wohlford is offering $20 all day motor boats to active military on the first and third Saturdays of each month.
Permits and Boat Rentals are now being issued at the Ranger Station. At present we are limited to cash transactions only. We apologize for any inconvenience during this transitional period. The park will remain closed weekdays until Dec. 10th.
The trout opener is less than a month away. There are 6,000 lbs of Nebraska Tail-Walkers scheduled for Saturday Dec. 10th. A small trout plant courtesy of The Department of Fish & Wildlife occurred last week making this the earliest start for trout the lake has seen in decades. We don’t anticipate a noticeable trout bite until Dec. 10th, but it does open up the possibility of getting a few early nibbles.
Catfish are biting throughout the lake. Just before Halloween Mike Bonds and Paul Voytko combined for a five catfish stringer weighing 28.80#s all caught off the South Shore Rock Pile using cut mackerel. The largest fish weighed in at 9.95#s. Lake Wohlford cats prefer cut mackerel or chicken liver.
Largemouth bass can be found around structure. With the re-introduction of trout to the menu this would be an excellent time to start throwing swim-baits in hopes of landing a big bucket-mouth.
Each month Whopper Contest winners in four categories are awarded a free fishing and boating permit. For information on the contest or fishing conditions, please contact the Ranger Station at (760) 839-4346.
