Grabbed one of the last Groupon deals for Pierpoint Landing and fished a 1/2 day trip recently. Great weather, spotted several customers carrying yellowtail in bags out from the AM trip as the PM folks lined up to board.

The captain took us just off the Palos Verdes area, a spot I haven't fished before. On other trips, the focus was on rockfish, but today they decided to focus on bass. The boat landed a ton of enormous bass out of the kelp on anchovies, plus a bunch of barracuda as well. I only caught a few fish, but didn't catch a skunk at least! Missed a bunch of fish on the anchovies, caught one cuda, and several whitefish. Also saw one bonito and one very large sheepshead get landed. All in all a fun trip, helpful crew, not too many anglers, and fairly calm waters.

Enjoy the video!

Thanks for the info. I took a half day trip out of there before and we did nothing but sculpin fishing. It was not worth it for me mainly due to the number of people on board. Lost a bunch of sinkers and had my line cut left and right because of snags.

Great boat especially for the price. From my experience, the socal bottom fishes in the am, then heads to Palos Verdes for the pm trip unless there is a good yt bite around. The Groupon deal is a great way to kill half a day.
