Fishing has been decent for the kids 2-5” Gills, small bass and an occasional 1-2Lbr on a Senko. Last night you could smell the lake right after getting out of the car, dead bass & gills on shore in tullies. Some fish still biting so not a full blown fish kill like 2 years ago, but not good news. The water had like a dead fish oil slick on it and stank. Kids did catch a couple of gills. Had to leave the tunnel side the smell/flies and death were that bad. Looks like a couple of the aerators are broken as well which could be compounding the issues.

Back again last night and did not see all that many dead fish. Water is still a strange brown and a few dead fish. Saw a few monster cats dead on the shore 20+lbrs stinking it up. if the water is killing them, more death to come.

A fish kill this time of year usually signifies high algae levels. When algae levels get high, it sucks all the oxygen out of the water and the fish suffocate essentially. This is likely the cause, a long hot summer....
