As a side note, "I was reading my Westerner Outdoor News today" and they quoted the Bako Boys as a source for information on fishing the Duct. Of course they had to mention about catching Green Carp as a by product of fishing the Duct.

I do. Their posts included actual, useful info on techniques used, depth, time of day, lures and colors, etc... I learned a lot from reading them, and their removal is a definite loss for this community.

I tried to make a few reports in the same style, but after a less-than-stellar response (my last Pyramid report got over 1400 views and 4 responses, one of them mine), I probably won't be doing that in the future.

It is a shame they are gone in my opinion along with many other long timers here. I Always enjoyed this site and posting reports because of them. They were always very motivational here. Met a lot of great people here because of this site. Some who I thought were my friends, and others who still are.

If you want a testament to the character, devotion to fishing and desire to teach others the Bako Boys (Cutbait & Trailblazer) hosting the Junior Striper Fest is a great example. The Bako Boys hosted a family fishing gathering named The Junior Striper Fest. This event was promoted and financed by the Bako Boys solely for the purpose of bringing a fishing experience to children. There was no entry fee and it was not limited to anyone.

The most impressive thing I witnessed was fathers and their children that were bank fishermen invited on Bako Boy attendees boats. A particular story tells me of the true heart of the Bako Boys. Cutbait when launching saw a family with two children (one was special needs) launching next to him and asked if they were there for the Junior Striper Fest. They replied no they didn’t know anything about it and were promptly invited to join the group.

At the campground where everyone was to meet for the weigh in and prize giveaway the special needs child won a trophy as did a number of other children. In addition to the trophies given out every participant was given a certificate. As if that was not enough each and every child was given a rod and reel and tackle. The Bako Boys tirelessly solicited contributions of gear for the participants and even chipped in out of their own pockets to make sure it was a success and that no one would be disappointed.

I might add that the Junior Striper Fest was hosted more than one time and was promoted on the FNN to people that visited here. That is now history with the Bako Boys ban and it is everyone’s loss.

What amazes me is the logic behind keeping some individuals on this forum and banning the Bako boys. But hell I'm a lifetime member of the BBC and I should be happy, I guess, I'm still here.

You can definitely catch fish, but let's be honest: they're not really reports, they're advertisements. You should post some actual reports: depths, colors, lures, etc.. once in a while, that would be very helpful. Not asking you to give up your spots and detailed techniques, you've earned those via TOW, just something more than the same shot of the same 10-30 stripers on the deck of your boat that might as well be the same picture over and over. I get that you do this for income, but other guides (e.g. Pete Marino) share a lot of info and still seem to do well.
