You don't need Crowley I can see ... You always come in from the Power Plant end ... or do you ever come in from the Lower end?

Thanks for sharing. Wish I could handle getting down to the water ... I think I can get down the road okay.

Billy,
About half way between the power plant and PVR dam, there is a paved ramp that leads to the water. It is an easy bike ride on a paved maintained road. I think it is about 2 miles (+/-)


That is a good looking brown. I nailed a brown beauty at PVR a few years back while bouncing a rooster tail for Perch. Not as nice as your. Surprised the heck out me. Way to go

GOSH ALMIGHTY !!! I just remembered my brother, dad, and I walked down the road on an opening day. We had to park way back up above the Power Plant because of the crowds (why on opener I don't know ... if it's year round). I seem to recall we walked down the right side of the river. Is there even such an access on the right side? That was 40-50 years ago FWIW>

I drove by once a year or so ago, and recall seeing the road down the left side of the river. Maybe there's some opportunity for me with my bad knees. I know, most of the posters ride a bike.

Billy, I have been known to hit up the early opener in/around Lone Pine. Family situation has changed ( more kids) so I don't have the freedom I once enjoyed. Couple more season and I will be bringing out the boys. I do take one boy with me for the General opener in Bishop. Been planning that trip for months.

General opener means I run up the hill HWY 168 to fish the creeks. Only the Owens and Pleasant Valley Reservoir is open year round. For rhe general opener, I start at Intake II and move to the creeks once the crowds move in. Ending up at Convict Lake. Alot of moving around for the opener but 50 fish days were the norm. I have slowed down considerably and try to enjoy the entire process NOT just the catching
