I'm heading up to Bishop for my annual fishing trip with my family in a couple of weeks. We usually fish spots on the Owens and the PVR. Anyone fish those areas recently? If so, how has the bite been? Thanks in advance!

Fishing has been very very good on the Middle Owens. The area around five bridges and Line street has been wide open some days and dead others. The reservoir is fishing very well also.

I'm heading up there on the 3rd to fish the Gorge and the WT area, probably explore some other spots.

I'll be up there the same weekend, but leaving on that Sunday. I'm guessing we'll make it to the reservoir, but not sure if we're going to go to the power plant side or dam side. Hopefully we'll get some decent action.

Bite was hot on the river. Right around sundown was the best time. I was getting them on mini jigs and powerbait nymphs. Tried to fish pvr but got blown out by 50 mph winds. Good luck

Thanks for the info! I've got my Sierra Slammers ready to go. Hopefully I'll have some pics to post when I get back.

I was up there the weekend after the Blake Jones derby and found PVR very slow from shore but did good at the Owen's at HWY 6 and Poleta Rd. Also found plenty of hungry trout in Independence creek at the campgrounds and in the sand trap at Georges creek.
