My buddy and I were planning to go to Havasu Landing this weekend and take the kids for some camping/fishing. We normally camp in the overflow section. I was wondering since its Spring Break is Havasu Landing packed? I tried to call their campground but the number online doesn't work. Also, can we just pull off the highway and camp anywhere along the river or are there restrictions preventing us from doing that?

I was at havasu last weekend and it was pretty busy. This time of year it's only going to get busier. I would recommend checking out cattail cove. It's more family friendly and still plenty of space to fish. I'm not sure about camping at random spots along the river.

I don't need to buy a AZ fishing license if I am fishing out of Cattail Cove since the other side of the river is CA right?

California fishing license covers you fishing Colorado River waters in Arizona. Back in the day it was a separate stamp but not anymore. You can fish both sides with a California license.
