For some reason I have been surprised by how hard the fish have been pulling. I am getting walked around the boat by a 3 lber on 6 lb. Several times I though I was in to a huge smalley or 5 or bigger LMB and the fish turned out to be 2 or 3. All the fish have been really healthy without a mark on them. I thought the same before the pre-spawn/spawn when the bigger girls were heavier with roe. Maybe it's the lack of pressure since the ramp is closed but IDK. Nice clean water with high DO, maybe.
Past years, half the fish were all beat up, diseased, skinny, red/brown blemishes or fins cut up. Not this year.
