Sunny, beautiful day
No wind where I was
high tide: 12:41 pm
Clear water
Air Temp: low 60's
Loc: SD

Started fishing about 12 pm with my trusty Shimano Stradic Ci4 3000 mounted on my Shimano Clarus 8' 6" med. fast. I selected this hardware with the posts shared by all you guys. Thanks for offering this information so freely.

I was fishing a Zoom fluke with a weedless #6 hook. I fished 2 hrs into my shift with no love. This 2 hrs did give me a chance to try different presentations. I tried bouncing and different rates of retrieve with no luck. Then I thought I'll try the bridge pilling, several casts with no results. Then I through on and it bounce off the pilling and go whack almost immediately on the drop. Exciting to hear all the Zzzzzzzz!!,(but I due tend to run light drag). I was enjoying the big bend in my Clarus and cranking my reel. As it got closer she was headed for the rocks. Darn! Well I just walked a little further down and got her loose. No measurement, but looked to be about 11-13 and about a pound.

Headed back to the truck throwing from the bank and spotted some structure. I thought this is what the guys are talking about. Tried it with a swim bait. 'Varied crank, crank pause, as I came into range of the structure got whacked again. This guy was only 7-8 inches. Both fish CPR.

Rather catch any fish than no fish!

Thanks for looking
Tim

Hey, thanks Robert. I've been fishing, but trying to get some freshwater experience and haven't been posting much. I was happy to read to your post. Way to go.

That sounds like a sweet Spottie setup you have there. I love feeling that little "tick" on the DS before setting the hook on the Spotties.
Nice feeshies!
