View Full Version : Did a little trolling to test my spoons

Decided to troll my spoons at perris to see if the new generation has what it takes. Ended up with about 10 mixed bag of bass and bluegill. No toad bass but the gills were heafty. Not too shabby for a couple hours of pulling lead.

Nice! Yeah the larger BGs follow and feed on the shad there at Perris. We use spoons all the time, once we have found the fish. I like to change the hooks to singles and use a red snap. What do your spoons weigh?

The 3.25" weighs a little over 1/2 oz (.569). I also have a 2.75" that comes in at almost 1/2 oz (.464)

Those look great. Attention to detail, coloration, shape.......nice.
I wonder if their are any holdover trout in Perris anymore? One of these days it would be neat to pull one up from the depths. If they are there I think the Peestick spoon might be the go to.
Your spoons make those other two look ridiculous.

Mike/Rod Is this where we meet now? I've got a few of those spoons. One is about 5 inches and it caught a lot of trout at DVL back when.

DVL killers/ I remember the last trout smack down someone won a set of those special spoons after the tourney-1 lucky angler.

I thought we raffled them off in pairs, I made 5 of each. Rainbow and shad.
