To say that Lake Meade dropped rapidly would be an understatement as the lake level dropped approx 8 feet in 48 hours . At about the same time an earthquake was in Nevada, very strange indeed.

That would explain it as it would be on the news for sure. Called my brother in law who lives in Las Vegas and it was news to him and he said if that was the case they would be out of water as the pipes that supply Las Vegas would be high and dry.

Very strange and interesting.
Supposedly the lakes level will remain fairly stable for the summer but was there last week and was amazed at the drop since I'd been there only about 2 months prior. Islands missing, new islands formed but on the bright side boils broke out and less water to paddle.

Where's the fun in that?
I wanted to believe some cavernous hole had opened up in the middle of the lake, swallowing the lake and the surrounding areas with it, much like the original post alluded to.
