In the 1960's and before that you had to sign up for it, like it or not you will be called to go serve your country. I was one of them and that's how it was back then. Wonder why they don't draft anymore. Look at all the happy boys at Fort Ord CA. Back then.46244

Those were the days. Made $96.00 a month as I remember.

You're still required to sign up for Selective Service. Should a draft ever become necessary, draftees would be drawn from it. Hopefully, for the sake of our young American men (not to mention our country as a whole), they will never have to be subjected to involuntary induction again.
