45975459764597745978459794598045981this past weekend oc parks angler chronicles ,capt larry moore sponsored there anuall free kids fishing derby with over 450 kids in attendance oc parks stocked the lake with trout and catfish unfortuantley the hot weather took its toll on the trout with many dying before the event but the catfish saved the day biting right from the start 9 am sharp first fish was caught at 9.05 by 14 year old Stevvie Duncan and the fish kept coming to the scales till 12.00. it was great seeing all the smiles on the kids faces at the wiegh in station some catching there first fish of a life time with the help of team 57 volunteers it definetly made some memories of a life time for these kids. Lots of happy faces and prizes and free hot dog lunch for all in attendance cooked by the world famous big D,s smoking butts . great job by ocparks division angler chronichles team57 all the sponsors of this event to get all the young kids hooked on fishing ! my daughter Samantha won 1st place in her division with a 4.84 catfish which made the day more special for my family a good time was had by all with many of the kids going home with new rods reels and all kinds of other prizes to keep the youngsters hook on fishing! great job by all of you and thanks to all in attendance who donated there time ! and thanks to Biteon for supplying all the mackrel dipped in biteon to get the kids on the catfish!
