Vail Lake launch ramp closed for repair

I just heard that the only remaining ramp left at Vail will be closed for repair/extention Feb 23rd, 24th, and 25th. You may want to call the lake to make sure they finish on schedule before making the drive. For those of us who have been launching in the mud, this is good news. Of course it would be better news if we just got enough rain to raise the lake back up to the level of the existing ramps.

That thing was a tricky launch a year ago, I could imagine how it must be now. Good news for you Vail anglers. I need to get back to that lake for some redemption sometime real soon...

I was there on Thursday and it took a Suzuki Samari 4x4 with a winch, and a Dodge Durango 4X4 to pull out my Chevy Siverado and Ranger Z520. It took almost 20 minutes, and more than a few tries to finally get me out. So happy they are finally going to pour a new ramp.
