For those that might be up in the area from tomorrow (4/12) until Sunday, there will be 6 of us partaking in the beauty of the Owens Valley, the river, and PVR. Some of us will be tubing PVR on Friday as well.

I'll report back our minutes, but for those in the area look for two red trucks during the day and six stumblin fools (either at Rusty's the bowling alley or an occasional trip to Whiskey Creek) at night. Stop by, say hey, and we might just buy you a barley pop.

***UPDATE***
Well another fantastic trip to the Owen Valley pre-opener! We faired the 90mph gusts up the 395 on Thursday to hit the Valley with a lighter wind and land a few larger stockies off E. Line St in the afternoon.

Tubed PVR on Friday and the 'bows were on FIRE on all food based bait. Out of the 6 of us only one caught anything on an artificial (spinner). 'bows ranged from a 3-lber to a lot of stocked midgets, but while drifting the middle of the res we hammered down a number of the Sac Perch all of good eatin size if you're into those. Enough fish caught to freezer a few each and still have enough to BBQ that night. Fresh trout doused with a couple cold ones and some panned red-potatoes did us well. I suspect the fish were gorging since a front was coming in on Sat and you could tell the pressure was dropping as Friday went along. The bite NEVER let us and we probably CnR'ed 4 to 5 fish a piece.

Sat was tougher fishing. We started off by 5 Bridges and only landed a couple browns, one on worms and the other on a Mepps. Moved south a little after noon to Warm Springs Rd and took a few out of these. Nothing of size with the exception of a 3lb carp of all things. Since when is the river kicking out carp. Needless to say the ravens in the area were happy with us for the free fish dinner even if it was only carp.

No fishing Sunday AM as the rain and snow came in to dampen the last day. We decided to head home as the temps were sub 50 and still sprinkling with only the river south of twon being our option. All in all a phenominal time hangin with the boys and gettin the rods wet! Special thanks goes to Sharon @ Rusty's for making the evenings a hoot. Her aim is getting better but she still puts up with a LOT of our S#!^ when she really doesn't have to.

See ya in October Owens Valley!!! Pics to be posted soon
