My grandson loves the one he has, heck when I was a kid they didn't sell them in the stores, and had to make my own boards from roller skate wheels.4562745628

Remember it well, the big problem was they were narrow tracked and noisy. After weeks of riding them on the sidewalks down a steep neighborhood street the neighbors started putting garden hoses across the sidewalk. Being resourceful teens we moved to riding down the painted center line of the street. :Envious:

But the sound over the side walk....Thump thump Thump thump

That's why they put the garden hoses across the sidewalks. During the summer it was hot and we skate boarded at night and no air conditioning back then and people had the windows of their homes open at night.

This got me thinking about my old tony hawk board with neon green wheels and goldflake paint job.Ouch that thing was sexy.....prob worth a small fortune today.

We made them covertly lol.... kids aren't supposed to play with match's ya know.

We made these from the fork of a tree branch, a cut up car inner tube and the tongue of an old shoe. We got pretty good shooting Pigeons down at the rail yard. It seems the hopper cars had a tendency to leak grain and attracted the Pigeons looking for a meal.

Great pics OPF. I have a few metal and some clay wheels boards.
Have a red Roller Derby #10 with metal wheels that has never been ridden, NOS with the box, early 60's.

I remember making those clotspin shooters also.Thy could shoot single bbs also about 20 ft.
