I know I saw this in the "old forum" which I can't seem to get back to..(where did it go?)...Does anyone have plans/photos on how to make a decent fishing rod holder for float tubes? I've got a Caddis Nevada Gold. I'm also trying to figure out how to make a fly rod holder for the other side. Any ideas to share? Thanks- Jeff

Hey thanks for the input, and all those are nice, but I really wanted to make my own out of pvc pipe or whatever. I may have to buy one for my fly rod because of the reel being so close to the end of the rod...

Hey bro,

Just wanted to mention I have seen the strap style scotty rod holders at turners that attach to a float tube.

It may have been my post you are talking about you can find it here http://fishingnetwork.net/forum2/viewtopic.php?t=30944
I saw some of those red x picture things where I posted instructions but I still have them if you need them. Take a look at the pictures that are there and see if its the one you are looking for.

For those who asked heres a repost. Remember my tube may be

different than yours so take your time and make adjustments as you go.

These are some of the pics I took of the build, and a make shift blue

print. Use these instructions at your own risk  . If yours doesnt

work out it not my fault :soapbox: Now then on with the pictures. If

you need any help or questions let me know. Good

luck

??? the T joint in the back of the seat what are they for??? and how strong is it?? and what is holding you polls in the holes??are thows clips of some sort??

the X joints behind the seat are used for whatever like an umbrella, another spot to put your poles out of your way etc..

the clips you are asking about are made out of a curly wire from like a cell phone charger. They are rod leashes in case you drop your pole
