Went out to Irvine lake yesterday and met up with fishingdachronarch201e7. This was the first time out on my new Cumberland and man it was definitely better then expected. It was great being about to kick around and travel with ease compared to my caddis. The tube was way bigger then I thought it was going to be, it felt like a full size suv. It had more then enough storage capacity for all my gear with space to spare. I would highly recommend the Cumberland to anyone looking into tubing or contemplating it.

Yesterday was the first time to Irvine. I thought it was going to be a huge lake with a bunch of coves but I guess the water level was way down from prior years. Anyways got there around 6am and inflated my tune while waiting in line . Went in to the west shore and got in the water around 645. Kicked out and got a feel for the tube and stared tying up my rigs. The first fish came on powers bait within about 40 minutes of the start of the day. I was trolling the power bait around while casting jigs or throwing the drop shot. Fished up the buoy line towards the dam then kicked back closer towards the middle of the lake. I got no action out deep but stuck one more drop shorting back by the buoy line. The majority of the fish I saw landed were within 15 feet of either side of the buoy line on night crawlers. Water had maybe 3-4 ft visibility, temp was 53, fished mainly between 17-26 feet of water and most of the fish where close to the bottom.
In all 2 fish for the first time out so I can't complain. I apologize for the poor pis but here you go. Thanks for reading.

Thanks dcfisherman, I know that all rods are kind of overkill. I just enjoy being able to grab a pole that already has a jig, spoon or drop shot tied on already. I don't want to waste time re tying every time I want to switch techniques.

Thanks troutdog, I was surprised when I pulled up to the gate to se just how many vehicles where waiting to get it in. That guy totally photo bombed me glad someone noticed lol

Nice setup. What would you say that has cost you all things considered? I have a POS tube that I still haven't used. My biggest fear is getting out there and not having what I need, or all the trouble of trying to tie and keep rods out of the way. But you look like you have it all covered.

Thanks freshness21 Well the Cumberland tube was around $175 after tax, rod rack like $15-20 in pvc pipes and clips, the rod holder on the left is from bass pro runs $20, fish finder $50 used, life jacket $20. So looking at about $250-$275 depending on what you decided to go with not include tackle/rods/reels. If you use the search function and look for "float tube rod rack" you will see some of the other members cool setups and get some ideas. I got a crappy tube for my first one, was a caddis navigator II and that thing had me practically swimming in the water. I forgot my pliers in my car went I went out the other day so I just. Cut he line and dealt with it once I got to shore. Don't take to much tackle out just because you have the storage to do so. Biggest thing get out and have fun!
