Hi all.

Wanted to get my 5 year old and 11 year old daughters into fishing as a hobby so took the for their first outing to the park today. They hated me for waking them up before sunrise and dragging them out into the cold, but 10 minutes into first cast, we landed a nice little 12 incher. The girls were instantly hooked.

With my cousin Greg, a seasoned angler, they landed and reeled in a couple more.

It was a great family bonding morning with no iphones, no ipads, and no toys. Even in the rain, they refused to leave the lake and what started as a quick 2 hour stop became a 6 hour adventure in the rain. Lake was stocked on 1/8 so there was quite a contingency of folks and diving birds there with us, with just about everyone landing at least 2 trouts each.

Thanks folks!

My girls woke up this morning and while getting ready for school, asked when we will be going again.

My 5 year old asked if she can practice with her goldfish in our aquarium. I may have to lock up her pole now. haha
