If it doesn't work in France what makes you think it would work here.
PS an AR-15 is not an assault rifle.AK47s are.

I'll argue that unless a rifle is fully automatic, it is NOT an assault rifle. Plenty of semi-auto AK's around...

Which is my choice for hunting deer, btw.

The cops at the massacre in Paris showed up on bikes, heard things going boom, and pedaled away.

Right Hawgs, the assault term is thrown around too much, when in actuality it's a select fire weapon.

A 7.62x39 is plenty for deer, so long as you aren't using the crappy milspec jacketed rounds.

The Name "Assault rifle" only came about when Nancy Pelosi decided they were Bad..she gave them the name....before that we jut had Automatics and semi autos
If a semi auto Ak is a ASSAULT Rifle...then a 1911 is a Assault Pistol...a Ruger MKII is a Assault Pistol...your 10/22 rifles are Assault rifles..and the list goes on
why again i ask Why does anyone care what kind of Firearm any Law abiding citizen of sound mind have??

Their was a club in California that hunted Deer with 50 cal rifles for years..they took shots with high powered scoped at 1/2 to 1 mile and Hit the target..but a 50 cal is a Horrible weapon now right??
Has anyone thought about this??? the more we change the way things WERE the more Screwed up the country gets

Oh but i Forgot Joe Biden said it was easier to handle a Scatter Gun than a AR15....what an Idiot

its a perfect deer round, as long as you're not shooting long range and have a pointed soft point instead FMJ. It matches ballistics of a 30/30. Is that round too small? or has that round not taken down deer, elk and bear?
Are there other or more choices for deer round? sure but no reason. Its all about shot placement anyways.
7.62x39 is a great deer round unless you're a size queen.

Hi Bucket, let me tell you a funny hunting story that happened to me. When I first started hunting big game the year was 1983. I had plenty of money, so I went out and bought all kinds of different caliber hunting rifles. Kindly like a golfer with a whole bag of clubs. I was on a spring Bear hunt in British Columbia in 1989 and the outfitter taught me two things on that trip. First one was to shoot sitting down on my butt. Secondly find one gun and master it, you and the gun become one!!!!! So I went out to Turners and bought a really nice SAKO rifle in the 300 caliber range. Yes I've shot 1000 lbs moose and big Caribou with it and a bunch of bears. I've also shot Havalena, wild boar and more deer and antelope then I could count. My point is, shot selection is always the most important, but having a little extra caliber doesn't really hurt anything!!!!

Back in the mid 70's I had a 50 cal black powder Hawken rifle and it was fun to shoot but a chore to clean with black powder. Later sold it and bought a Sharps 45-70 and it was the coolest gun I have ever owned. The bullet was over 500 grains and would shoot 1000 yards. Slow moving bullet with a huge drop, around 12 foot drop at 1000 yards, 50" at 400 yards and with the ladder rear open sight it looked like an artillery piece when shooting long range. You could literately count one thousand one, one thousand two, one thousand three after firing it before the round hit down range. Only shot one deer with it and it did a complete 360 in the air when it took the round, amazing to see.....

Yes, those large caliber bullets also make quite a "whizzing" noise as they go downrange. I've got an 1873 Trapdoor Springfield (.45-70), an 1876 Winchester (.45-60), and an 1883 Winchester Hotchkiss (.45-70). Gotta love those big bores.
