Went out today with the full expectation of a tough fish due to the high BP Santa Ana conditions and boy was it. It was a grind with the morning being the toughest. Went spot to spot getting bites but not sticking them. I adjusted my bait to a bare minimal T-rig with a green pumpkin/black flake bait and presented it very slowly which is what they wanted. I found the morning bite in about 30ft of water on points and offshore structure. Later the weather changed, it became very glassy and the bite died. Went two hours without a bite. Due to the clear glassy water and the temps climbing we decided to go shallow looking for the girls out sunbathing and we found them. Using the same bait I started getting bit again and the bite was actually pretty good, all things considered. Had to look for pockets with rocks and full sun. I caught several fish in literally a foot of water. I also saw some pretty good sized 4-5lb pigs but they just didn't want to eat like the smaller models did. All 8 of my fish were this size;

With an hour and a half left in the day we decided to head to the east end and stopped at A.B. point because at this point in the day there was a west breeze blowing just enough to put a good ripple on the surface. I pulled out the Huddy rig and third cast POW! It's game on, knew this was a Stripey right off the bat. My first Huddy Stripey! Wifey just loves it when I bring a lineside home for dinner;

Water surface temps 59-63
Water is gin clear in most areas. Some places had a little bit of algae on the surface, but not much.
It's a grind but hey, it beats ice fishing any day...
