Hey Steve, what's a Flatlander like you doing in the mountains!:Big Grin:.... what did you catch? trout or bass? Crappie fishing is great there around the docks early May...

Had luck last week after it snowed on the north shore. Not far from the dam. We fished from 7pm to 10pm. Caught 4 trout in a few hours using chartreuse power bait. Fished shallow water with a short leader. The power bait seemed to harden a bit in the cold water making me miss a few hook sets. Use just enough bait to make the hook float if you are having trouble getting a hook set.

Caught 1 after the other on powerbait? Limit is 5 right? How did you safely catch and release all those trout?

Wow I love that they put a BBl section in. Shame they waited so long to chase off the bullies from this site, lost some cool folks..... Glad to see some folks still hookin up around here. Tight Lines.

Wow they mark shallow areas but not swallow your lower unit areas must be slowdown in business for boat mechanics in big bear ! Wait for the algae bloom that will help to stack some boats on that bunch of a rock then it will be marked !

I'll be up there today bowfishing. East end or boulder bay.

Do you wet wade or walk along shore? Wondering if it would be worth targeting carp with a fly like Lake Henshaw.

I havent been up in a year but prior experience I saw them cruising 25ft off shore and closer. With the water low fly may be a good idea for some fun. Good Luck.

LOL I get ya... This is the top rock of the old damn no chance of getting a boat anywhere near it. Google Earth has a updated image of the lake on Jan/1/15 so you can see the level was LOW then. Careful out there folks.

I went up yesterday. Only shot one. The water seems a little cold still for shore wading. The whole east end Marsh is completely dry, which totally sucks, as it is my best spot. You can now see the old dam. We need rain, and a lot of it...
