Well I will let MO tell how well we did today at Silverwood but this was the last fish to fill our limit.

The last stock one guy got a 20. The lady that puts the tags on the boat told me that dfg said they are stocking only cleghorn for the rest of trout season. And it seems less fish are caught when they stock cleghorn. That's good and bad because less people will go to the wood but it might be tougher to catch the big ones

And those are good fish. I'm jealous of you guys. Hopefully I get one soon. I've been trying to go every plant

Some haven't been around the lake all that long......

I am confused. Are you saying that because cleghorn is closed and they haven't stocked it in a few years?. Or am I completely wrong?

Confucius say "Big stripers hang out in deep water until water temperature is more pleasant to them in shallower water". The marina area is deeper water. Also the bite will be more consistent throughout the lake. The bite was in a completely different area than Cleghorn on the last stocking so the trout move out stripey finds um and feeds.

If I say anymore there will probably be a hit put out on me.

Makes sense. I knew the bigger striper like the colder water but I just figured wherever they stock the striper come and eat the trout

All Seal needs is the 20 year old swim bait chuckers that won't even acknowledge another human presence!

Hahaha.. sorry seal.. now you know how the Bako boys feel when the "new videos" all over YouTube about duct fishing pop up!...

I'm sure you feel the same way when some of the newbies say its tough, or pattern changed whilst your on a 20 fish day.LOL... (you know what I'm saying)

I can tell you that all the free or paid advise or internet lurking nor the latest and greatest gear will not put you on fish consistently. Only time spent (a lot of time) on the water and making mental notes to yourself on what works today and more importantly why it works will guarantee success. The guys that consistently catch fish have paid their dues through many years of hard work and diligence. Every day on the water (good or bad) is a lesson that needs to be remembered.

On practically every picture I see on Instagram or facebook or any social media there is always at least one or two guys that ask what lake or if it says the lake they caught the fish at the guys ask where on the lake they caught the fish.

A month or two ago I posted a report of catching a couple schoolies at the wood and I got 3 PMs asking where I was fishing. One of the guys had one post and another guy had 4 posts. I just didn't respond to them

Triple Amen! The wood ain't that easy. You gotta learn patterns. Most probably your gonna struggle. Most people we see say that they got nothing.

Like Cb said! You have to work with past experience and patterns to put your own style together to make it happen.

Every single lake Castaic pyramid DVL the wood all have big stripers much bigger then mine that you can catch. Don't run to the wood thinking it's best lake because truthfully it's not! I love all these lakes and all have toads. Just put time in is key!! God knows I deserve that fish and more for the time I have put in.
