Bro and I got to the AO at 7am to see 1ft waves, clear skies and low and behold.......bait balls galore! The birds were out in full force, and were an easy indicator that there were tons of bait below the surface. I threw out the crock an after a few minutes I got a tiny 10 inch short! After catching that one and seeing my brother continuously pull out fish from the water...I figure there are bigger fish to be had :Twisted:
Switched to the lucky craft an moved up the beach.
A few min later, as I was reeling in the lucky craft I felt a weight at the end of my line. As I was slowly pulling the fish(The way it ran...I knew it couldnt have been a perch or YFC so it HAD to have been a hali :), I saw it an knew it would have be been a new PR halibut! But as I was pulling it in...BAM hook fell out :Sad:
After having a few choice words to Poseidon, I kept working the beach. I got some redemption by catching this lil beauty

An a few min later, as I was making my way down the beach....once again my bait was hit but another halibut. THIS time...I swore that this bloody fish ain't escaping from me again. After playing it, and tiring out the Hali...I managed to haul it on shore(even though the waves were sooo small haha). And woo hooo!! A PR Hali for me! It wasnt a legal but this is the largest one I've caught so far :) :Big Grin::Big Grin:

Overall an awesome day at the beach! :) An hell...even though all of the Halibuts were short...that means there's gotta be some legals not too far away :Wink:
