I wasn't expecting much today with the cold and windy conditions after Halloween night's storm but I wanted to try the tip I got ---- much props to the Bako boys for the help!
Well, no such luck as it was the second cold windy day in a row. However, I have much faith that this will produce next Sunday after a forecasted week of stable weather as I take a party of 6 on 2 rental boats then. Trolling 2 u-rigs, we picked up 1 dink striper as we left the marina arm and then 1 more in the early afternoon just south of Serrano. We saw only 1 boil all day and didn't get to it on time.
Word from the marina is that it was tough all over today, however, we saw a guy with live shad nailing bass after striper after bass after striper left and right in the shallows near Serrano. There was also a pair in a bass boat doing well in the morning vertical jigging there. It got windier as the day went on and the cold never let up. Felt like winter out there. 7 hrs on the rental boat. Brrrrrr.....
