We will probably begin stocking next week if the weather and water keeps cooling. Our trout are grown high in the Sierras where the water is much, much colder. We must make sure our water here at the Lakes is cold enough to safely stock the trout. We don't want to make trout soup. Our water is 71 degrees, so we are almost there. It's best to stock in water that is no warmer than around 65 degrees.

The Lassen's are worth the wait. Compare their pink fillets to a Calaveras trout. There is a noticeable difference!
