Headed out to the mole with Matthew and Zack to do some hoopin....first off we had to make bait (Bonita) which was a pain with the sealions roaming around, but we finally managed a couple, after that we baited the nets and dropped them for about a dozen shorts, but I did manage a couple of legals.....here's a few pics and vids.

Getting the nets ready:

Great post!! Very helpful for wannabe lobster noobs like me.

Do the antennas have barbs to be able to pull that crap out of the lobster and is that crap that comes out toxic or just bad tasting?

Thanks!

Randy, you're making me wish I had come to the island to work back in April, or whenever it was.

Nice documentary.

Great post Randy. People who are new at hooping will learn a lot about cleaning. If you're gonna toss those legs, just mail them to me. :D :D :D

The antenna dont have 'barbs', but kind of like one way ridges that are semi sharp... Go in OK, but catch and pull everything on the way out....

That is the colon that is pulled out, full of poo if fresh.. Not good to eat and better if it isnt in there...

Just knowing it is gone makes them more appetizing to me.... :D
