Well, i'll just start with that it was exciting to finally be able to get slacker on my boat for a day at the mid. We fish the duct a lot together, but his schedule hasn't allowed him to go out there with me yet, until today. He'd never really fished the Mid (from a boat) before, so i was hoping the bite was still good so he could see what fun it's been lately.

Got on the lake at 630 and headed straight to a spot that's been producing for me. Fish were busting here and there, but no large boils. Managed to pick off a few small ones on topwater. Soon as the sun came out, things really quieted down, so we started the troll. Was a slow pick on a tiny grade of fish for a while, nothing like it was for me last week. Figured at this rate we'd get bored and start fishing for lmb/smb if things didn't liven up.

I had another trolling spot thats been good to me, so we packed up and moved across the lake. Well, that was a damn good call because our day turned from mediocre to awesome! Saw some heavy activity on the fish finder, so as we passed over the area we clenched our rods a little tighter, waiting for it to happen....and then...DOUBLE HOOKUP! we looked over at each other and both said "man, this feels like a better fish"....that's because we had 5 fish on at once....i had 2 and slacker was hooked up with 3...all 2-3 pounders! People fishing from shore were watching in disbelief

We must've stirred up the pot somehow, because as soon as we landed the fish, the water erupted in the biggest damn boil i've seen all year. dropped the trolling rod and out went the sammy....soon as it touched the water it was inhaled, and the drag starts singing. Got her in the boat and was the biggest of the day at 24" and 5#s. The area ended up being our honey hole for the rest of the morning. We put the trolling rigs away and figured this was a good time to get creative and experiment with some different techniques we were curious about....and they paid off :Big Smile: Ended up limits and were off the lake around noon.

Slacker's "maiden voyage" was a success and an absolute blast!

this one had a weird, deformed tail....so felt it was best to remove it from the gene pool, lol

There once was a duo from AV
They loved the largies and chartruese

Now they are stricken by boils like they have the HIV
Soon they will contact a certain Bakersfield duo and call a truce

Way to slay zipperwurm.
We considered hitting the mid today but the wind forecast was not looking favorable. We hit Magic Mountain instead.
Thanks for the report.

Yes, the trip started out very slow, BUT it ended up being one of those days fisherman dream about. It was a beautiful day to be on the lake. Zip hogged all the big fish though lol. Can't wait for the AV and Bake team up.

I was skeptical about the wind while driving down the 138 in the morning, but it turned out to be a very pleasant day. certain spots got a little breezy, but it was pretty calm for the most part.

listen....i don't know what you're talking about
