I know that some here think I only try to stimulate dissent on this board (Are you listening Bucket). However, I try to engage in some areas where we all might have similar opinions in parts of issues we discuss. That really is a desire I have. It seems that we attack each other reflexively instead of considering all aspects of issues. I'm guilty of that also. So, I will start this one by looking at certain aspects of this piece. What do you think of what Snowden revealed about this level of government surveillance. On the one hand, I think it takes some deep surveillance to keep up with wrongdoing in this world. On the other hand, how much is dangerous to us? This is a question that strikes at the heart of this issue IMHO. Another is what is done with this information about us. I know many here don't trust Obama at all. I would suggest the right has at times also done illegal and immoral things with security information. Some illegal and immoral things are done by both sides at times. How do we stop these excesses while protecting our country and what it stands for? I would hope that we could try to have a civilized discussion of these issues without ad hominem attacks...

Speaking about illegal what do you think about illegal immigrants. Keeep them here or send them back permanently. Maybe there are more right wing people because it is required to have ID checked for a fishing license and this is a fishing forum .
