Hunting Giants 6 was amazing to say the least! A very big thank you to Arthur and everybody on SWAT! Also thank you to all those who sponsored/donated to the event making it a huge success!

I attend the event with my son and we had a wonderful time fishing, eating, learning and meeting new people. Thank you to SP Dan for talking with us about the Carolina rig, the drop shot, reading the surf and to move if we did not got any bites. Thank you Bones for telling me to tie on the 5/8 oz Kroc and cast as far out as possible it paid off. Illest thanks for taking the picture of my son and I, it's the only one I got from the day. Thank you Smoosh for telling me to keep heading north on the beach and it was nice meeting you Effren. Lastly thank you to the 2 gentleman who gave me a handful of live lugworms for bait, sorry I didn't remember your names.

As far as the fishing goes it started off slow for us. I didn't have high expectations for fishing since at last years event I only caught a surf perch. I was hoping to land a few perch with my son and be happy with spending the day wit him at the beach. It took about 15-20 minutes before we got our first hook up. The first fish was a yellow fin croaker that swallowed 2 treble hooks on the lc. That was first time I have ever caught a croaker and man did that fish have some fight in him. We continued casting and walking north and didn't really have any other bumps on the lc. I decided it was time to switch tactics to the Carolina rig and try for perch on gulp sand worms but no luck. This is the point where we were graciously given some live lug worms and the fun began. We land a few small surf perch and we even caught a small halibut with the lugworms. We continued walking up the beach and the catching really picked up around 10:30. At this point were at the last strip of the beach and we were using a blue mackerel Kroc. Were were hooking up with bonito, mackeral and smelt every 2-5 cast. These 3 species were also a first for me. We landed a at least 20 + fish before heading back down the beach for lunch. This was definitely one of the most wide open bites I have every experienced. To sum it all up the food was great, people were all awesome, fishing was phenomenal, prizes were spectacular and the day will never be forgotten! Thanks again for everyone who made this possible for all the members on FNN to enjoy. I can't wait to come back next year
I would highly recommend attending this event next year for anyone who has not yet gone. Thanks for reading.

BTW: I bet the guys who gave you the lugworms were Bill Varney (look his name up on the web) and his good friend.
