15 tubers showed up for the last event for the season, fishing was tough but some bass were still caught. I spoke with Jacob the 16 year old who caught the 22.02 pound striper at June's event, I had asked him what was in the stomach. We were expecting to hear that there were some trout in the belly but Jacob told me there was no trout to be found in the belly of the beast which only could confirm that it has been in the lagoon for a while.
On a sad note Mike Iljin president of the Castaic Bass club, friend to many fishermen, and over all a wealth of knowledge lost his fight to cancer yesterday afternoon around 4:45pm. He will be missed by many, RIP good friend catch the big ones up there ZERO limits buddy.
