Two days at my favorite AO ...a couple weekends ago ! Evening and first light next day . Went out on friday also for a short recon before hand, took a few casts and hooked into a short hali I assumed , but it got off before I got to see it . So I went to hit it again Saturday hoping they were there ... and they were ! Hooked into a couple shorts right away.

And then bam nice strike thinking legal Hali ! As I brought it in to the surf , well what do you know ...a ghost ! My first from the surf ! Did not measure but guessed around 20 " .
Pretty excited all the same , got me texting a few swat crew .

Went on to catch another two shorts . And then closer to dark I get a nice tug and land a fat 24" Hali ...at my feet the hook flies out and the wave surge claims her back to freedom. A clean release LOL !
Next morning first light the conditions were amazing. Glassy clear and clean ...I'm hoping the ghosts are around but two more short and then a legal just at 22 went home with me sunday ending a great weekend of fishing after several months of squat for Dawn Treader .
